But, I would like purchase more a ICP-MS (Nexion - Perkin Elmer), is more robust for Uranium Oxides analysis. Our requirements needed in order of priority * We need a replacement instrument for a TIMS. This instrument must be able to perform isotope analysis for 234U, 235U, 236U, 238U. Currently we only analyse for the U235 Isotope, reporting to 3 decimals. * 92Mo, 94Mo, 95Mo, 96Mo, 97Mo, 98Mo isotopes plus the total Mo concentration. * Lastly we need to determine 30 trace and ultra-trace elemental impurities in uranium oxide powders. Currently, these analyses are performed using a plasma source mass spectrometer (PSMS), also known as a glow discharge mass spectrometer (GDMS). We need to perform bulk analyses on 10+ samples per day with a turn-around time of < 3 days. The powdered samples (mesh size <200) are not very homogeneous.
