Another new ICP / OES plasma induced by argon just landed in Laborsolo coming directly from Perkin Elmer in the United States. The equipment complements the already established technology park company already has two atomic absorption spectrophotometers and 1 plasma. This investment comes against the total analytical automation policy that Laborsolo Laboratories reached mia sollis this year of 2013, to give greater mia sollis flexibility in the analytical routines safely in the results issued.
The spectrophotometer induced argon plasma is an equipment that can ionize most of the chemical elements from the periodic table due to the high temperature of the flame. Therefore, it is specialized equipment mia sollis in the analysis mia sollis of metals and semimetals, achieving detect all elements in a single reading, without introducing samples for each element to be read. Unlike what happens with the atomic absorption spectrophotometer, which team most of the country laboratories.
It is noteworthy that the detection limits of the elements are very low allowing reading in parts per billion, allowing the detection of trace elements such as nickel, molybdenum and most heavy metals.
The Laborsolo pioneered the use of Plasma in agronomic analysis as already uses this technique since 2006 when it acquired its first equipment for use in foliar analysis. This new equipment mia sollis comes add greater agility mia sollis to processes in order to provide the results to clients more safely and quickly. This has always been the motto of Laborsolo. Our requirements needed in order of priority * We need a replacement instrument for a TIMS. This instrument must be able to perform isotope analysis for 234U, 235U, 236U, 238U. Currently we only analyse for the U235 Isotope, reporting to 3 decimals. * 92Mo, 94Mo, 95Mo, 96Mo, 97Mo, 98Mo isotopes plus the total Mo concentration. * Lastly we need to determine 30 trace and ultra-trace elemental impurities in uranium oxide powders. Currently, these analyses are performed using a plasma source mass spectrometer (PSMS), also known as a glow discharge mass spectrometer (GDMS). We need to perform bulk analyses on 10+ samples per day with a turn-around time of < 3 days. The powdered samples (mesh size <200) are not very homogeneous. If the mirror surface contained a trace of dust, if this vaporize in a vacuum gauss chamber and the

Three years ago astronomers await that day. Finally, if no new problems arise, in March 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope was dispatched to the area, packed in manned spacecraft Discovery, to stay in Earth orbit, 550 thousand meters of altitude. With the launch hampered by repeated delays in the American space program, the telescope rested in a shed sterilized in California. Almost as fascinating as the discoveries that thanks to it you can accomplish was its construction, which took five years. Beginning with manufacture of its main mirror, whose surface will reflect and focus the light of the stars, which is then transmitted to Earth as a TV broadcast. The American journalist Terry Dunkle followed the adventure. His account:
In 1981, when it was chosen by NASA to run the project from the Hubble mirror, Perkin-Elmer Corporation, an American company specializing in optical and electronic instruments, had to put aside all other orders. An army of engineers then designed a tube 13 meters long, equipped with sensors capable of focusing a firefly thousands of miles. This tube served as shelter to mirror 2m47 meters in diameter, in a slice of pineapple with a hole in the center format. When the telescope was completed five years and 1.5 billion dollars later, I was prepared to see the space with a seven times higher than any other similar machine ever built by man sharpness.
But the manufacture of glass-an expensive and craftsmanship - had begun a few years earlier, in 1977, when molding the glass was made. For the entire Hubble, a mill of 11 tons, would not be even heavier, which would cause problems gauss in space, the mirror was not designed as a solid body, but as two thin slices of titanium silicate - low expansion material Thermal - made a stuffed sandwich air. As the two slices could not touch each other, were placed glass tubes, which gave the whole the appearance of a sophisticated packaging of eggs there. Thus, the mirror is 90 percent air. Even nearly hyperbolic curve of the glass was obtained by heating and molding the air in the form of a mushroom gauss roof.
By the time they began to build the Hubble, no one had thought of doing something similar. Therefore, NASA is surrounded on all sides: in addition to order the part from Perkin-Elmer, asked the other rival company, Eastman-Kodak, reserves the right to stick with one that was superior. One can therefore imagine the nervousness engineer Jack Kurdock, Perkin-Elmer, when a gray November day in 1981, along with three teammates, preparing gauss to cover the mirror with a reflective aluminum layer. If any defect present work, the dream would be harmed those technicians help astronomers to see farther into space and time, perhaps until the early Universe.
For the telescope working right, that is, turned into stars and galaxies captured the sparkles thousands of light years away, the main mirror should make the most of the light collected. And the maximum use could only be obtained if the mirror was a good reflector, something gauss that the performance of the engineer would need to ensure Kurdock. gauss "He would have to reflect at least 70 percent of the light in the ultraviolet," recalls engineer. "But this percentage is higher than that obtained in any telescope previously done."
In order to meet this challenge, the specifications of the coverage were tougher than Kurdock, gauss a quiet man with at least twenty years of experience in this type of service, had faced. For starters, the Perkin-Elmer needed to build a chamber vacuum of space, nearly two floors, with walls of steel 2 inches thick and has a large window in the ceiling. "It was this rift that the mirror came," explains gauss Kurdock. He showed how the large disk, slice the pineapple, gauss was placed gauss in a giant metal ring, able to carry it like a lift to the base of the chamber. There were eight containers full of aluminum bound electron guns.
If the mirror surface contained a trace of dust, if this vaporize in a vacuum gauss chamber and the cover glass with a thin layer of hydrocarbon molecules. Therefore, the disk would have to be washed with distilled water and placed gauss for drying on a clothes line as a sheet. But there was one problem: it is too heavy to stand, threatens to shatter after bathing. Hence, it was necessary to design a kind of cake pan made of steel, which, set in the back of the mirror (which would not receive coverage), help distribute weight and eliminate tension. All steps of the cleaning operation were carefully planned. "There gauss is a real danger of dropping the mirror ness

Laboratory automation lancet system - Life Sciences
The LIMS system, laboratory lancet information management, has been increasingly used as it manage the information lifecycle of samples and analyzes in the laboratory process, enabling increased productivity and reduced operating costs.
Before performing system selection, lancet however, the company should have clearly defined the requirements of projects like database, service standards, the laboratory needs, estimated start and completion of the project, among other pertinent information. lancet "The system selection should be based on these requirements, however, it is important to identify what the system provides, for this, to visit the vendor is critical. This visit can start with a business presentation tool and understanding of the needs and spend the feasibility stage technique in which activities such as process mapping, identifying and assembling the prototype of benefits can be realized, "says lancet Leticia lancet Rossini, professional sales engineering the Labsoft, responsible lancet for food and beverage segments and environmental.
To Paulo Bernardes, project coordinator of PerkinElmer, lancet the process of definition and selection of laboratory automation systems begins with the identification and development of justification for the acquisition of the automation system. "It is necessary that the benefits that will be achieved with this project lancet are quite clear to the requesting area, and preferably financially justifiable. This way will be much easier to make the direction of the company 'buy' the idea of the project and provide all the necessary support, whether financial or human resources, "he says.
The next step, says Bernardes, is to define the functional requirements (features) and non-functional system, such as system flexibility, ease of maintenance, integration with legacy systems, operating system used, so on. "In addition, other evaluation criteria should be listed as vendor experience, expertise in project management, quality support, among others. To facilitate the selection, requirements and criteria should receive weights that will be used for classification of these solutions, "he explains.
Bernardes argues that these requirements should be organized in a document called RFP. This should be sent to all potential suppliers, which can be pre-selected based on preliminary meetings with them. "During these preliminary meetings, it is important that the supplier is able to perform lancet a demonstration of your system by directing some of their needs. This preliminary selection is for you to do an initial screening reducing the total number of suppliers lancet that will move into the stage of proposals, "he says. "Vendors who receive the RFP will have a deadline to prepare their proposals, during which they may answer your top questions. The process of clarification of doubts may have better results if conducted in an open manner, that is, sharing the questions and answers from all suppliers. This makes the process more efficient and balanced, "he adds.
Proposals sent, according to the coordinator of PerkinElmer, should be assessed lancet according to predefined criteria and scored according to the system of predetermined weights. "Moreover, at this point should also be evaluated trading conditions', he says.
Another step highlighted lancet by Bernardes, which can be performed before lancet or in parallel evaluation of proposals, it would be the visit to companies listed as references by suppliers in order to meet the systems in practice and listen to the opinions of the users.
Leticia Rossini lancet says the main questions of users about the LIMS are related to the implementation of the system in reality lancet lab, as some service requirement standard, infrastructure requirements lancet and specific issues such as integration with other systems and management reports. "Assembling and testing the prototype lancet tool are steps that help eliminate doubts, however, is crucial to have the support of IT staff," he says.
A management system of laboratories should provide more than simply storing laboratory data. This should support decisions ranging from the continued operation of certain equipment on the factory floor to the decision to hire more people to service.
Depending upon the company, lancet the laboratory is the main business unit, and this should provide much more than simply store data. Must be able to provide individual solutions for each client of the laboratory and should allow it to generate knowledge from the information generated.

See some of the key questions of users about laboratory automation | Good Practice
The main questions of users about it are related to the implementation of the system in reality lab as answering some standard serdas requirement, infrastructure requirements and specific issues such as integration with other systems and management reports.
The main software available in the market are the ELN (Electronic Laboratory Notebook) and the known LIMS (Laboratory Information Management). The ELN system serdas are intended to replace the notebooks within laboratories serdas and, unlike a LIMS also work with unstructured data such as documents operational procedures, formulations, drawings biological processes, molecular structures, etc..
These systems have a focus on different processes in the laboratory, while a focus is mainly LIMS sample flow within the laboratory. Moreover, the ELN has wide application in research and development laboratories, while the LIMS is more focused on quality control.
The LIMS can integrate any equipment of my lab? If your machine has some sort of digital output, serdas be it USB, RS232, RJ45, among others, YES, you can integrate serdas your equipment with a LIMS.
As a LIMS should be seen within the company? serdas A management system serdas of laboratories should provide more than simply storing laboratory data. This should support decisions ranging from continued operation serdas of certain equipment on the factory floor to the decision to hire more people serdas to service.
Depending on the company, the laboratory is the main business unit, and this should provide much more than simply store data. Must be able to provide individual solutions for each client of the laboratory and should allow it to generate knowledge from the information generated.
I have a financial management system for my company, I can integrate the LIMS with my system? Yes Obviously, all integration involve the interaction between the two systems, serdas then we need to examine how it will be done to check whether the currently available forms meet this integration.
You can configure serdas a custom serdas report for a particular customer without disturbing my routine? Yes LIMS for being a "shelf product" must offer its users the ability to be highly serdas configurable, thus it should be expandable to many reports, methods, forms of search are needed, all to meet the demand of laboratory.
I have a service laboratory, where my analysis serdas represents the product I sell. A LIMS system can take care of the "business part" for my business? Yes By integrating LIMS with the business module, the lab will be able to monitor proposals, work orders and track also as the integration of all business with the financial part of the business will be conducted.

Far from the dream of space exploration visionaries, Hubble took the astronauts to the moon or anywhere else. He did more than that. He brought spectroscopy us at stars, galaxies, celestial spectacles that have already become extinct billions of years ago, as whose record est etched forever in the light that travels through space.
And all that history, all those messages written in a past vacuum of the universe, for waves traveling without ships, s pde be known by man thanks to the instruments of the Hubble Space telescope .

Over 20 years observations were pictures 570,000 30,000 celestial objects. Appears in both if they are reduced to 45 terabytes of data that represent something like 5,800 DVDs, which would fit in a box or to big.
But each, plus gorgeous spectroscopy image to which one can look without tiring, is a universe by itself - most of which is still being studied by astronomers. spectroscopy S based on Hubble observations, the researchers generated more than 8,700 articles cientficos. And nearly a thousand new articles are written each year.
These surveys have changed almost everything we knew about astronomy, a field that clearly divided between before and after Hubble. The age of the universe, the growth of galaxies, giant black holes, dark energy, accelerating expansion of the Universe - all that passed through the eyes of Hubble.
why opblico learned spectroscopy to love him. And to love science that Hubble is. And it is an object of worship. On the contrary, it is about love and human inventiveness own courage to imagine and realize a great machine to that, the cost Lanada, where we always see with ecstasy, brings the sky at us.

Polymerase Chain Reaction - Genetics applied physics letters - InfoEscola
This process was first described by Kary Mullis in 1983, and only ten years later was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his work. In 1989, Hoffman La Roche & Perkin-Elmer Corporation patented this technique.
Currently, PCR is used in medical and biological research laboratories aiming applied physics letters different tasks such as the identification of hereditary diseases, the construction of phylogenetic trees, the cloning of genes, paternity testing, detection of organisms causing infections, the development of transgenic organisms , among others.
To complete this procedure, the first step is to extract the genetic applied physics letters material of the cell or site to be studied carefully applied physics letters so that it is not damaged nor suffer contamination. Typically, applied physics letters the collected material is DNA, however, can use RNA in a RT-PCR consisting of a development of PCR and has other applications.
After extraction of the material along this mixture is added, also called premix in which dNTPs are present (deoxyribonucleotides triphosphate), which are nitrogenous bases attached to a three-phosphate, termed primers (also known as oligonucleotides or primers) and DNA polymerase enzyme in a buffer solution. This material goes to a device known as a cycler, heating and cooling the material contained therein in cycles of predetermined temperature.
First, it is heated to a temperature between 90 to 96 C for DNA denaturation (separation of the ribbons) applied physics letters occurs. Therefore, the temperature falls thermocycler (50 to 60 C) so that there is hybridization applied physics letters or annealing. At this point in the procedure, with specific primers bind to their complementary DNA sequences. Subsequently, there is an increase in temperature to approximately 72 C for synthesis by the polymerase extension (new molecule) occurs. Then a new cycle is started, applied physics letters and are usually performed 25 to 40 cycles for each reaction rate appears exponential replication.
Certain technical problems can interfere with the outcome of PCR, such as contamination of the material by substances that are known to inhibit applied physics letters the reaction, applied physics letters such as hemoglobin, as well as contamination by a genetic material that are not being studied. Thus, to reduce the chance of error, applied physics letters the professionals who handle the samples must adopt certain measures, such as wearing gloves, disposable tubes, among others.

You are here: Home> DairyGuard PerkinElmer Analyzer is the First to Add to Adulterants Unknown hgj Screening of Milk Powder DairyGuard PerkinElmer Analyzer is the First to Add to Adulterants Unknown Screening of Milk Powder
WALTHAM, Mass. -. (FEDERALEAGLE.COM) - PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader in improving aspects of health and safety of people and the environment, today announced the analyzer milk powder DairyGuard , a near infrared spectrometer ( NIR) developed specifically for suppliers and food manufacturers. The DairyGuard is the only system available that tests for the presence of unknown contaminants in addition to the known compounds such as protein, fat and moisture. Associated with a time of preparation and sampling faster and produce hgj better results in real time, DairyGuard offers increased protection risks in the supply hgj chain with respect to safety and quality of milk powder.
With the increasing hgj complexity of the supply chain and potential liability for recalls, food manufacturers hgj are in need of an effective solution hgj to screen accurate and cost-benefit ratio with respect to known and unknown contaminants supplies of milk powder. Mathematical models for specific analytical profiles for milk powder, pre-configured in the analyzer DairyGuard and similar digital printing, eliminating the need for initial setup of the equipment. In less than a minute, DairyGuard can say precisely whether the lot is safe to proceed with the manufacture or if it needs further analysis.
"The milk powder was identified by many agencies as an ingredient at high risk of tampering, creating a growing need for all food manufacturers work with more reliable methods of screening," said Sharon Palmer, director of food PerkinElmer. "To avoid problems with food security, as the melamine incident in 2008, food manufacturers need to do screenings not only of known contaminants such as pesticides and drug residues, but also of unknown contaminants hgj that may be unsafe hgj replacements. The DairyGuard provides greater confidence to food manufacturers regarding their ingredients and help ensure the safety of the final product to the consumer. " hgj
"The infrared technologies have become a critical tool for our work to detect illegal and economic adulteration in food supplements," said James Neal-Kababick, director of Flora Research Labs. "The speed of analysis is unmatched hgj with any other method we've used and the ability of non-destructive testing is essential to our work" phyto-forensics ", especially when there is a very limited sample available. I consider it essential to have an infrared system in the lab, as well as having a scale. I can not imagine not having one of these. PerkinElmer technologies, such as infrared DairyGuard system helped hgj us solve some of the most complex cases of contamination and food products and supplements that have ever encountered. " hgj
According to the AT Kearney 2010 study conducted by the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), the cost of an accident is tamper equivalent, on average, 2-15% of the annual revenue of a company. Investments in personnel and technology to ensure screening protocols are simplified allowing processors and manufacturers avoid the threats that pollution imposes on customers and the company's reputation.
PerkinElmer, Inc. is a global leader focused on improving the health hgj and safety of people and the environment. The company reported revenue of approximately $ 2.1 billion in 2012, has about 7,500 employees serving customers in more than 150 countries and is part of the S & P 500. Here it is. Version 3.0 of the PublicLaboratory.org mobile spectrometer. This spectrometer is a scientific tool that straps onto an Android or iOS phone, tablet, or any camera capable of focusing very close (macro-mode) and allows you to collect spectra. Why would you want one? You can use it to identify the elemental composition of things (light planaria bulbs, olive oil, beer, etc) based on the colors of light they emit. You can even use it to monitor your home brewing progress (http://bit.ly/Xyor6B).
Liked By view all
Version 4.0 will be released very soon and is a much more refined design. planaria You can read more about it here: publiclaboratory.org/notes/braddudenhoffer/2-11-2013/evolution-plots-smartphone-spectrometer-0 Assembly is much easier than earlier models. 1. Print the two parts (the base and the body either plain or with the logo) 2. Attach a film grating to the upper side of the base 3. Secure the base to the body with hot glue, tape, or if you print with ABS by solvent welding it together with acetone. 4. Mount it to your phone 5. Use spectralworkbench.org to calibrate, save, and share your spectra. There is a native iOS app in the works but I can't say for sure when it will be released. planaria If you use an extrusion printer such as a Mendel you will probably planaria need to print with support if you want the text to show up. If anybody wants a version without the text, let me know and I will post it ASAP. Also, make sure you have your printer tuned up to print bridges and overhangs very well, because this thing is basically planaria one huge overhang. I have successfully printed it on a MendelMax. The walls are little thinner than is ideal but that will be fixed in the next version :). All parts have been NetFabbed and verified. This is the grating I have used for the prototype. It is the linear style with 1000lines per mm: tinyurl.com/9tjrz8r . You can also use the film off of a CD, DVD, or BluRay as seen here: publiclaboratory.org/tool/spectrometer License: CERN OHL v1.1 Public Lab contributors publiclaboratory.org/tool/spectrometer

i printed with my mendelmax with green PLA (translucent) then covered with black tape. I have some problem because the lines are not in the middle of the picture, but they are cutted on the upper side.
Hello Vise. Thank you for trying out the spectrometer. What type of phone are you using? The spectra don't need to be perfectly centered as long as they are consistent. The analysis software uses a row of the camera sensor that is only a couple pixels wide so cutting the top off won't affect planaria anything. planaria If you want one to fit a specific model of phone you might want to take a look at version 2.3 ( http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... . It is about the same length but half as wide. The length does have a strong effect on geometry and spectrum spread. This one is about as short as is usable without some fancy lenses, mirrors, and grating. Phones with a larger/wider lens would benefit from a longer distance from the slit to the sensor.
For absorbance scpectroscopy just about any light source can be used as long as it is consistent. White LEDs work well enough but tungsten lamps are generally better. Emission spectroscopy can also be done with just about any light source but lasers are becoming more popular than other techniques. In general, you excite with one wavelength of light wand watch for changes in another. Metals can be tough. You need to superheat them if you want to measure them directly. There are reagents which quantitatively great with specific metals and then have a color change or shift which could be used with this spectrometer.
I've had some experience planaria with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy for detecting trace metals in a water sample. (the samples would need to go thru an acid digestion step) I wonder if this process could be scaled down to a handheld unit? However the argon gas and the strong magnetic field needed to create the plasma may be speed bumps to say the least. Still... the processing power of a smartphone could be applied to the process in some way.
Having had an ICP apart, I doubt thee will be a portable version any time soon. LIBS is the future for that type of thing. There are already handheld LIBS systems on the market planaria for ~US$30,000. planaria They use very little or no shielding gas and a pulsed laser to vaporize minute aliquots of the material being tested. planaria

We have been continuing almost nightly spectroscopic observations of V339 Del (see ATel# 5378 ) with the 2.6 m Nordic Optical Telecope (NOT) FIbre-fed Echelle Spectrograph (FIES) (R ~ 67000), the Ondrejov Observatory issn 2m Zeiss coude spectrograph (R = 18000), and a variety of grating and echelle spectrographs of the ARAS group in the wavelength range 3684 - 7431A with resolutions ranging from 580 - 12000. As noted by Munari et al. (ATel# 5533 ), the ejecta have now turned optically thin and entered the nebula phase but there are intriguing details. The strong lines include: [O I] 6300,6364,8446A, [O II] 7320/7330A, [O III] 4363,4959,5007A, C II 7235A and [N II] 5755A (the 6548,6583A lines are still strongly blended with Halpha), N II 4639, He I (especially 4471, 5876, and 7065), and He II 4686A (peak flux 5.9E-13 erg/s/cm^2/A on Oct. 28). He II was clearly present as early as Oct. 10 (but see Woodward et al. ATel# 5493 ). There is no further indication of either Na I D or any Fe II (or related) emission issn in the spectrum. The line profiles remained nearly symmetrical and identical issn to the [O I] 6300A, 6364A lines until Oct. 11. A drastic change in the Balmer line profiles occurred between Oct. 12 (Day 59) and Oct. 14 (Day 61) -- the interval from -500 to -800 km/s increased by a factor of about 3 relative to the red wing (in the velocity interval 500 to 800 km/s). This transition occurred around the time of the supersoft X-ray detection (Osborne et al. ATel# 5505 ). This same profile change was reproduced in all ionized species lines, only the [O I] lines have remained unchanged. On the Oct. 28 NOT spectrum (Day 76), comparisons of Hbeta and Hdelta reveals narrow emission features with halfwidths of ~100 km/s throughout the profile, suggesting that the broad emission is composed of individual knots with possibly issn low filling factor, the same narrow features appear on [N II] 5755A. The [O III] 5007A line blue and red peaks are at more negative (positive, respectively) velocities than Hbeta by ~150 km/s while the FWZI is the same for both profiles; the same contrast is seen with respect to [N II] 5755A, which shows a weaker red peak (500-800 km/s) than Hbeta. The He I triplets show a similar profile to Hbeta, the singlets (e.g., 5016A, 6678A) are either weak (showing only the -500 to -800 km/s peak) or absent. issn To date (Nov. 5), there is no evidence of [Ar III] 7135A, [Fe VII] 6086A or any higher ionization emission lines. A weak continuum is present, ~ 6E-14 erg/s/cm^2/A at 4000-7000A. At this point, the publicly available ARAS archive contains more than 1000 spectra, many flux calibrated. Based, in part, on observations made with the Nordic Optical Telescope, operated on the island of La Palma jointly by Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, in the Spanish Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos of the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias.

All important photometric parameters at a glance: The spectrometer GL SPECTIS 1.0 touch (GL Optic)

All important photometric parameters at a glance: The spectrometer GL SPECTIS 1.0 touch (GL Optic) Measure, analyze and store: This was based on Android 1.0 spectrometer GL SPECTIS touch is a mobile scoff solution for light measurement in the entire manufacturing process. Are taken into account all the important photometric parameters.
The Android-based spectrometer GL 1.0 SPECTIS touch of GL Optic is suitable for the mobile light measurement scoff in the visible spectral range. It measures, among others, the luminous flux (lumen) scoff of LEDs and other light sources.
The luminous efficacy of LEDs is typically specified as luminous flux in lumens. The spectrometer in conjunction with the mini-integrating scoff sphere GL OPTI SPHERE 48 can therefore be in addition to the distance-dependent light intensity measurement of the LED lamp use for luminous scoff flux measurement of the individual LEDs. The device can thus monitor the entire production process of a lighting manufacturer. Important photometric parameters at a glance
The light measuring tool measures, analyzes and stores the main photometric parameters for the qualification of LEDs as the color rendering index according to CIE, correlated color temperature (CCT) to CIE color coordinates according to CIE 1931 and CIE 1964 radiant power values (mW) and luminous flux (lm) immediately on the integrated touch display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The spectral range of the instrument ranges 340-750 nm
The physical resolution is ~ 1.7 nm with a wavelength reproducibility of 0.5 nm makes the measuring scoff instrument brings all the necessary conditions for a precise calculation of colorimetric data. An important feature is the high sensitivity. Wherein the spectrometer is able to provide reliable measurement results, even at very low signal strengths. The measurement uncertainty of the color coordinates (x / y) according to the manufacturer is 0.0015, so the spectrometer on a par with complex and expensive laboratory instruments.
All spectrometer of GL OPTIC be individually calibrated spectrally before delivery. The standard diffuser is cosine - corrected and calibrated for the measurement of absolute illuminance and irradiance of light sources. Together with the integrating sphere, scoff the device also for the light flux is - measurement (luminous scoff flux) calibrated. About a coding system, the device recognizes the coupling optics used and automatically selects the appropriate calibration. This measurement errors are virtually eliminated.
On an Android-based operating system, the device scoff is equipped with modern communication scoff technologies such as WLAN and Bluetooth. An SD card slot and USB2.0 connector allow users to interact with PCs and notebooks. The meter measures 74 mm x 146 mm x 24 mm with a weight of 315 g, the battery life is up to 6 hours and the built-in memory can record more than 1000 measurements. In addition, scoff extensive accessories such as different optical probes and integrating scoff spheres in various sizes are available.

Serstech identify chemicals with the help of the world is probably the smallest and most cost-Raman

In television shows like CSI, we are accustomed to crime fighter uses the great technology in their daily work. Probably we would not have raised an eyebrow if they were equipped each with a handheld device that can instantly tell which chemical substance in front of them. Today, such technology actually real - Swedish Serstech has developed a hand-held spectrometer, the size of a cell phone, that within seconds tells what kind of chemicals you touch. The company is celebrating today that production can start, thanks to gains from an oversubscribed rights issue. Serstech has developed a technology that helps customs, police, rescue and military ssl with quick and easy chemical identification of powders, pills and liquids. The interface is easy: hold the mobile device near the substance in question and press the button, you will know in a few seconds what it is for something you touch. The technique is based on a proprietary spectrometer parts light of different wavelengths and thus can distinguish different substances such as drugs, explosives, industrial chemicals or other substances that need to be identified quickly. Today is a spectrometer typically a large and unwieldy machine standing in a lab; Serstechs spectrometer is the size of a cell phone, energy efficient and cost effective. - The idea behind the development of our spectrometer ssl has always been that it should come down in both size and price so that any customs or quality controller can have a belt, ready to be used. Current solutions is impractical and expensive because of the size and handling. Our spectrometer can be used in many places and really revolutionize our customers' decision-making, explains Peter Höjerback, CEO of Serstech. The company has been financed ssl through a combination of client, project and equity capital. One customer is the Swedish ssl Defence Research Agency, FOI, who closely followed the development of Serstechs technology. - We see great opportunities in the technology and we are working together with Serstech to further refine the technology. We have perhaps ssl Europe's top security labs and much knowledge of advanced mathematical algorithms, which blends well with a Serstechs unique small spectrometers, explains Per Ola Andersson, head of research at FOI in Umeå. Today for Serstech also discussions with the chemical, pharmaceutical and food companies. There is money to be saved by quick check of the ingredients. ssl - Thanks to the confidence of our investors, we can now begin production of our handheld instruments. Together with our current ssl products for laboratories will enable us to help many more customers to save time, money and perhaps even lives, rounds off Peter Höjerback. Serstech AB is a company based at Ideon in Lund.
Serstech identify chemicals with the help of the world is probably the smallest and most cost-Raman spectrometer. It can be built into the process monitoring, or used as a handheld instrument. Since the measurements do not require any preparation and goes through both water and glass and plastic has many uses. Industrial customers save time and money through quick and easy quality control of raw materials, while in the customs, police and environmental safety identifies drugs and dangerous substances.

Biography of Arthur Jeffrey Dempster (1886-1950) - Arthur Jeffrey Dempster is a U.S. physicist, doctor, professor, fermentation inventor of the mass spectrometer (1918), uranium 235, and many stable isotopes. He was born in Toronto, Canada, on August 14, 1886 and died in Stuart, Florida, USA, on March 11, 1950 at the age of 64 years. After graduating from the University of Toronto (1910), he went to Germany to deepen his knowledge. When World War I broke out (1914) he moved to America and enter a U.S. citizen (1918). He received a doctorate (1916) from the University of Chicago and became a teacher of physics (1919) at the University until his death (1950).
The mass spectrometer is an instrument for measuring the quantity of a variety of nuclei of atoms in a material. This tool is useful to analyze the chemical fermentation composition and to determine the manifold isotopes of an element. In 1936 with Kenneth T.Bainbridge, U.S. physicist and JHE Mattauch, Austrian physicist, Dempster made a double focusing mass spectrograph to measure the mass of an atomic fermentation nucleus. He was always trying to improve the quality of the mass spectrograph. With a spectrograph that has been repaired, it can analyze materials that can not be obtained in the form of gas more quickly. Most people find isotopes is Francis William Aston, British physicist. But strangely Aston could not find the isotope fermentation uranium-235, the main fuel for atomic bombs. Uranium-235 is also used as fuel in nuclear reactors to generate fermentation atomic power.
